Our Mission

The Mission of Jubilee Music Enrichment is to cultivate young leaders through the discipline of music training.

Our Inspiration

The project draws it’s inspiration from the Fisk Jubilee Singers a group of young African Americans, most of them former slaves, who through education and much discipline triumphed over oppression and severe obstacles.
Fisk Jubilee Singers
The Jubilee Singers cultivated their talents and introduced the world to the songs their parents sang in slavery. The power of songs like “Steal Away,” “Swing Low Sweet Chariot,” “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord,” left unforgettable impressions upon their audiences. The message of these songs and the spirit in which they were presented melted the hearts of segregationist and opened doors of opportunity for their people. They were ambassadors who traveled the world and stood before, presidents, kings and queens with impeccable character and dignity.

Jubilee Music Enrichment challenges youth to emulate the dignity and discipline of the Jubilee Singers and to stand as leaders who provoke positive change in their community.

Our Vision

That our sons may be as great plants in their youth;
That our daughters may be as corner columns carved in the likeness of a palace;
That our storehouses may be full overflowing with all kinds of goods upon goods;
That our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets;*
That our leaders be strong bearers of burdens;
That there be no breaking in, nor going out into captivity;
That there be no crying in our streets;
Happy is that people, that is in such a case:
Yes, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.
Psalms 144:12-15

*The number of sheep one possessed was an indication of their wealth.
