Jubilee Music Enrichment is not the ordinary music project. It capitalizes on using the discipline of learning and performing music as a vehicle to teach valuable leadership attribute such as setting and meeting goals, professional decorum, responsibility, overcoming challenges, and character building. The majority of student who receive piano lessons in their youth usually pursue and excel in careers other than music. However, there are many valuable elements gained in the process of learning and performing music which greatly enhance their abilities, thus propelling them to success in their current and future endeavors. No matter what they do, they can always enjoy music!

Music Theory Classes:
Participants learn the fundamentals of music; notation, timing, chord structure, progressions, composition and arranging, through fun and innovative activities. This training has the goal of cultivating children’s minds, sharpening their ability to think constructively, and to process, analyze and apply information.

Group Keyboard Lessons and a Place to Practice:
Youths receive instructions in piano technique. They are also provided with a place to practice since many do not have pianos in their homes. They are challenged to master, memorize and perform a repertoire of music.  Those who are successful receive scholarship at the Annual Scholarship Performance and Banquet.

Handbell and Chime Choir:
All students participate in the Jubilee Ringers handbell choir. Younger children perform using hand chimes. Ringing bells enables participants to immediately perform before audiences, thus providing encouragement and building self esteem.

Performance:
Participants have an opportunity to apply all training received through performance. In addition they are required to learn proper stage decorum and must be prepared and dressed in appropriate attire for the occasion. The Jubilee Ringers have performed at numerous churches and venues including the annual Philadelphia, Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Non-violence, Inc. annual Luncheon, the NJ Garden State Chorale Annual Christmas Concert and the Gloucester County Children’s Choir.

Youth Leading Youth:
Participants receive training in leadership, public speaking and professional decorum. Those eligible become junior instructors. They are responsible for program set up, teaching, planning and conducting.

Young Ladies of Excellence & His Excellence:
Youth are presented with Biblical studies and fun activities which direct attention to dealing appropriately with overcoming peer pressure, developing integrity, leadership, and other like attributes that foster effective leadership. They are taught the importance of blending talent with integrity.
